How were Pitney Bowes Business Insights products used for the Nationwide Mobile App? The App calls Nationwide’s internal GIS service, which uses PBBI’s Geostan and AddressBroker to complete the geocoding. Then, the service accesses data about the Nationwide Blue Ribbon repair Facility, and posts those shops on a map.
The Nationwide Mobile App has been downloaded more than 86,000 times. It has had organizational impact because:
- The App is providing a great customer experience. If you are in an accident, you can begin to enter your claim, and figure out where to take your car for repair…all before you leave the scene of the accident.
- The Claims organization at Nationwide is able to get photos from the scene of the accident, thus providing information that helps in the Claims handling process.
- Within Nationwide IT, the iPhone project involved people from the GIS team, the Mobile team, the Claims team and others. The project had aggressive timelines, but the technical teams understood the importance of the project and worked very well together. This project seemed to really engage the IT teams.
